Marmara Educational Institutions was established in 1985 in Maltepe with Çağdaşım Kindergarten with the principle of “education first and then teaching” in order to “raise generations with free mind, free wisdom, free conscience” as aimed by the great Atatürk.
In 1991, Private Marmara Primary School and Private Marmara College started education. In 1993, Marmara Science High School took its place in the world of education and training.
In 1996, the first and only Radio-TV Journalism Anatolian Technical Vocational High School was opened in Turkey.
In 1997, Bodrum Marmara College was opened in Bodrum, the first campus of Marmara Educational Institutions outside Istanbul. In 2014, after completing the requirements of the IBO (International Baccalaureate Organization), it started IB-DP education and became a “World School”.
Then, in 1997, again under the guidance of Marmara Educational Institutions, TC Maltepe University started its education life with the slogan “Free in thought, modern in education, universal in science”.
Finally, in 2017, Kocaeli Marmara College was opened in Kocaeli Kartepe, our 3rd Education Campus. As soon as it started education, it applied to IBO (International Baccalaureate Organization) and after completing its requirements, it started IB-DP education with the identity of “A World School”.
In order to keep up with the changing world and developing technology, it aims to give our children the best and the most beautiful and perfect of everything. For this purpose, after the 1999 Kocaeli-Gölcük earthquake, Marmara Education Village, where the current campus is located in Maltepe-Büyükbakkalköy, started to be built as 100% earthquake resistant. In the 2002-2003 academic year, Marmara Educational Institutions started education in its new campus, which is the largest and most modern campus in Turkey and the world. On November 20, 1996, Marmara College was accepted as a full member of ECIS (European Council of Schools) and in 2008, it was accredited by CIS (World Council of Schools), which is the continuation of ECIS, certifying that all its practices in the field of education and training are at world standards. It was also authorized by the IBO (International Baccalaureate Organization) to award the International IB Diploma in 2008. Thus, all three Private Marmara Colleges within Marmara Education Institutions are authorized to award the IB Diploma, which is valid in all countries of the world.
